A CELEBRATION OF LIFE FOR SHIRLEY SCHMITT will be held this Saturday, July 25, at 2 pm, at Country Cabins in Chariton. (25119 US Highway 34 – east of Chariton on Highway 34).
WENDY WILL BE OUT OF THE OFFICE ON MONDAY, JULY 27, AND TUESDAY, JULY 28. Pastor Dick will be in the office on those days from 9 am-Noon. In case of emergency, please call Pastor Dick at (515-480-0613) or Gayle Bortz (641-203-0677).
THANK YOU so much to First Lutheran for the lovely medallions to commemorate June and Julius’s baptism. It was so special to get to have their grandparents present and get to share the event with the church and we truly appreciate it. DRIVE-THRU COMMUNION AT FLC ONLY: Next Sunday, AUGUST 2, at First Lutheran, we will have drive-thru communion starting at 8:45 am. There will not be a worship service at FLC on this day. But please listen to the sermon to be radio broadcast on KIIC – 96.7 FM at 10:30 am.

OPPORTUNITY TO HELP OUR YOUTH WITH A FUNDRAISING PROJECT!!
Our congregations’ youth will be volunteering to work Thelma’s drive thru meal on Wednesday, August 26th, to raise money towards their ELCA Youth Gathering trip to Minneapolis, MN in June 2021. Although we have several youth and their families volunteering their time, we could still use more volunteers. If you would be willing to help dish up food, bag meals, deliver food to vehicles, sell tickets, take tickets, direct traffic; we’d love to have you help! The volunteering time is from 2-7 pm, but even if you can help part of that time we’d appreciate it. If you are willing to volunteer that day, please contact Ann Aulwes 641-203-6577.

LAWN MOWING VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED!!
Please see the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the Fireside Room or you can call Wendy and she will put you on the schedule (641-774-4875). This ministry would involve mowing and trimming the area immediately surrounding the church building (inside the circle driveway) and sweeping off the sidewalks.
