WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY – July 4th
9 am – ON SUNDAY, JULY 4, FIRST LUTHERAN WILL PARTICIPATE AT THE INDEPENDENCE DAY WORSHIP SERVICE AT THE GAZEBO ON THE CHARITON SQUARE. The service will begin at 9 am. Please bring your lawn chairs!! This service is sponsored by the Lucas County Interchurch Council. Pastor Dick will be one of the clergy participating in the service.
There will not be a worship service at First Lutheran on July 4 – we encourage all to attend the worship service on the Chariton square. Please hold any offering that you would have given on July 4 until July 11.
CHRIST THE SERVANT WILL WORSHIP AT THEIR REGULAR WORSHIP TIME OF 11 AM ON JULY 4.

HARLAN RANSHAW PASSED AWAY ON JUNE 13, 2021.
THE FUNERAL PLANS FOR HARLAN RANSHAW ARE AS FOLLOWS:
** On Saturday, July 3, the family will be present at the Community Band Concert on the Chariton Square. The concert will begin at 11 am.
** On Saturday, July 3, a Celebration of Life Service will be held for Harlan at the First Lutheran Church beginning at 1 pm. A time of fellowship and light refreshments will follow the service.
Please keep the family of Harlan in your prayers.
QUILT OF VALOR PRESENTATION ON JULY 4th
Members of the Daughters of the American Revolution will be presenting a Quilt of Valor to Ed Tighe on July 4, 2021, at 10:30 am, at the Lucas County Veterans Memorial Park. Ed is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Please join the D.A.R. and the Park Committee at the Lucas County Veterans Memorial Park for this presentation.

WEEKLY BIBLE STUDY CONTINUES ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 7, 9 am, at FLC. Pastor will be with us to help guide the study. Coffee will be available. Bring your Bibles. The sessions will be for 1 hour.
THE WOMEN OF THE ELCA will gather at the home of Miriam Hibbs, beginning at 1 pm, on Thursday, July 8.
LUTHERAN ADULT FELLOWSHIP (LAF) will get together at 6 pm in the Fireside Room on Sunday, July 11. Please bring a food item to share. Your hosts will be Roger & Kary Blunk and John & Sharon Neel.
BREAKFAST GALS will meet in the Fireside Room at FLC, beginning at 8 am, on Tuesday, July 13.
“SHARING THE WEIGHT” BLANKET MAKING at CTS will take place from 9 am – 3 pm on Tuesday, July 13.
NEXT WORK DAY FOR CIRCLE OF FREEDOM WILL BE SATURDAY, JULY 17!! They are starting at 8 am and will go until around 1:30 or 2 pm. There will be a variety of projects available to work on. Flyers with more information can be found at FLC and CTS. Please mark your calendars!!
LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF SCHOOL BAGS: We will be filling school bags at FLC on “God’s Work, Our Hands” Day in September. If anyone wants to contribute, there will be a list of items needed in the Narthex. There will be a box in the Narthex to leave your items. If you wish to contribute money for shipping, please make your check out to First Lutheran or bring your money into the church office. If writing a check, please mark clearly in the memo that it is for LWR shipping. If you have questions, please contact Jean Heston or LuAnn Mosbach.
CTS WILL ALSO BE COLLECTING ITEMS for school bag kits and items to finish the health care kits that were started in the spring. Please see the list of items needed on the table in the basement if you are interested in helping. If you have questions, please see Cindy Thiel.

JULY IS CONDIMENTS & BAKING MONTH at the Ministries Center. Examples would be ketchup, mustard, oil, mayo, salad dressing, pickles, sugar, flour, baking soda, baking powder, cornstarch, and cocoa. They are currently in need of ketchup. Thank you!
