“SHARING THE WEIGHT” BLANKET MAKING will take place at CTS on Tuesday, March 9, from 9 am- 3 pm. Come when you can and stay as long as you can!!
THE WOMEN OF THE ELCA will gather at the home of Kary Blunk on Thursday, March 11, at 1 pm. In case of bad weather, we will meet at First Lutheran.

MID-WEEK LENTEN WORSHIP AT FIRST LUTHERAN:
Wednesday, March 10, and continuing each Wednesday through Lent, First Lutheran will hold mid-week Lenten services at 7 pm. Please join us as we gather for worship. Our journey to the cross this year will focus on the love of our Savior and the world which received him. Join us for this journey to Calvary. There will not be soup suppers prior to worship.
**Our Wednesday mid-week offerings this year will be given to the Circle of Freedom ministry.
**The “Noisy Offerings” taken on Sundays and the drive-thru communion during Lent will go to ELCA World Hunger.

THERE ARE LENTEN DEVOTIONALS for both adults and young people in the narthex at First Lutheran and in the basement at Christ the Servant Lutheran. For the adults there is a devotional entitled “Steadfast Love” and for the young people a devotional entitled “What Do I See at Calvary”.
DURING LENT, CTS WILL BE COLLECTING ITEMS FOR PERSONAL CARE KITS FOR LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF. An Action Team Grant has been applied for to purchase bath towels and members are being asked to donate combs, toothbrushes, nail clippers, and bar bath soap or a monetary donation to complete the kits. On April 6th, at 9:30 am, we will assemble and pack the kits to go to the ingathering on April 17.
VIRTUAL LUTHERAN DAY ON THE HILL! We will gather virtually from
9:30 – 11:30 am on Thursday, March 11. Registration is required! To register, please go to LSIowa.org/advocacy and click on Lutheran Day on the Hill. Please join Lutheran Services in Iowa and the three Iowa synods of the ELCA for the 2021 Lutheran Day on the Hill event. This year, in an effort to protect the health and safety of our participants, we have decided to transition to a virtual event with digital support materials. Thank you for standing with LSI and the ELCA as we advocate together for policies that empower individuals, strengthen families, and build communities.
MARCH IS KITCHEN SINK MONTH for the Ministry Center. Examples would be dish soap, comet, scouring pads, Lysol, wipes, toilet bowl cleaner, etc. Thanks!
