NEW SHRUBS AT FIRST LUTHERAN!
Hopefully you will notice and admire the new shrubs that have been planted at our main entrance at First Lutheran.  This was made possible by a Thrivent Action Team Grant. Strong backs were needed to break up the hard dirt and do the planting.  Thanks to all who were involved.

ADVENT – A NEW BEGINNING
Our lectionary year changes (begins) with the first Sunday of Advent, November 29th.  Advent is a time for us to prepare for the celebration of Christmas; to prepare, we will have Sunday and Mid-week Advent Services (Wednesday evenings Dec. 2, 9, & 16 at 7:00 pm).  For the Mid-week services, we will focus our worship around a new liturgy – “Joyous Light” and lessons from the prophets (Isaiah, Zechariah, and Daniel).  We hope you’ll join us for these festive services!
On the first Sunday of December, the 6th, and on Christmas Eve, December 24th, we will have Drive through Communion at First Lutheran – 8:30-10:00 am on Dec. 6th and 4:00-5:30 pm on Dec. 24th.  Also, there will be Candlelight Services at First Lutheran on Christmas Eve at 6:00 pm and at Christ the Servant Lutheran at 7:30 pm.
Now, as we prepare, there are Advent devotionals for both adults and young people in the narthex.  For the adults there is a devotional entitled “Our Greatest Gift, A Wonderful Life in Christ” and for the young people a devotional on praying through Advent, “Jesus’ Family Tree.”   We encourage you to pick up one or both of these devotional booklets prior to  the beginning of Advent, and pray you’ll enjoy the daily devotionals.
May the wonder of Advent fill you with hope and joy!
