DEAR MEMBERS AT FIRST LUTHERAN AND CHRIST THE SERVANT LUTHERAN,
Your thoughtfulness and gracious gifts at Christmas was most surprising and touching. Thank you very much! Your friendships and affirmation means a lot to both Carolyn and me. We cherish our relationship with you, and look forward to our journey together. May God’s blessing bring peace to all!
Pastor Dick & Carolyn
TO MY FRIENDS AT FIRST LUTHERAN AND CHRIST THE SERVANT LUTHERAN,
Thank you for remembering me this Christmas season with your very generous gifts. Your thoughtfulness is very much appreciated. I really enjoy what I do and serving alongside all of you just makes my job easier!
Blessings to all of you in 2021!
THANK YOU to all who donated money or extra hats and mittens to Headstart. With the donations from you, and the money from our Social Concerns Committee, the teachers were able to buy warm hats and mittens for every child. They also have money to buy other needed items for the children’s learning. Thank you so much for caring!
T he Social Concerns Committee,
LuAnn, Allison, and Jean
THE COLLECTING OF STAMPS WILL CONTINUE!!
Before everyone disposes of their Christmas cards or any other mail with a stamp, please remember that the Southeastern Iowa Synodical Women’s Organization is working with other Women of the ELCA groups to donate canceled stamps to the ministry of Lutheran World Relief. The canceled stamps are sent to a group that sorts and sells used stamps to collectors around the world. Thus far, 65 million stamps have been collected by this group in Kyle, Texas, and they have donated $42,000 to the shipping fund of Lutheran World Relief to ship quilts and kits around the world. To help you participate, we provide the following information: not only canceled stamps but unused ones as well; commemorative and seasonal stamps are most valued. Cut the stamps from the envelope leaving 1/4 inch around the stamps so as not to damage the stamps. Continue to save your stamps and drop them into the container on the desk in the Fireside Room at First Lutheran.
JANUARY IS LAUNDRY SUPPLIES MONTH for the Ministry Center. Examples would be detergent, fabric softener, dryer sheets, bleach, stain remover, etc. Thank you!
THE SNOW REMOVAL SIGN-UP SHEET is posted on the bulletin board in the Fireside Room. Please check your schedule to see when you may be able to help with this ministry!
