Worship Ministry – Mid-Week Evening Prayer Lent 2012

Worship Ministry

Mid-Week Evening Prayer
Lent 2012

As we gather for midweek fellowship and prayer on Wednesday evenings this Lenten season, Christ’s instruction to “love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength” (Mark 12:30) gives shape to our worship. Each week through March, we will be invited to walk this year’s Lenten journey by taking each of these spiritual foci into the center of our thoughts, prayers, and reflections. Join us in Chariton for supper and fellowship each Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm and then journey with us in worship from 7:00 to 7:30 pm as each week brings new reflection through art, prayer, and word around heart, soul, mind, and strength. To help with suppers, please see the LENTEN SUPPER sign-up sheet in the First Lutheran Fireside Room to volunteer for preparing and serving meals. Offerings given during these times are designated toward the ELCA Malaria Campaign.

SPECIAL NOTE: Give to the ELCA Malaria Campaign during Lent and have your offering doubled by a Thrivent Choice match of up to $500. Thrivent Choice funds come from Thrivent members in our congregation who own insurance products and designate their Thrivent Choice funds to our congregation.
